Empty houses

No planets at birth doesn't mean nothing there

What it means

An empty house had no planets in it when you were born. Everyone has several: there are twelve houses and only ten planets, so at least two are always empty, and four or five is typical.

It is not a gap in your life

An empty house does not mean that area is missing, quiet or neglected. You still have a 7th house if there is nothing in it. It just means that story is told by something else in the chart.

How to read one

Find the sign the house begins in. Find that sign's ruling planet. See which house that ruler sits in. That is where the story plays out.

A worked example

Say your 4th house is empty and begins in Aries. Aries has a ruling planet, Mars, and Mars sits in some other house in your chart. The themes of your 4th house, Roots, then show up through that other house.

Planets still visit

Transits pass through empty houses all the time. When one does, that house lights up for a while, whether or not anyone lives there.

Now try it on your own chart.
